Everybody wins dollar Pabst!

It's true. After the race from Riverfront Park to Hangar 57, Pabst was one dollar. Seriously, you shouldn't pay more.

Everyone enjoyed the Fast Friday viewing and some good old track stand and skid competition. Simon and crew did a great job of putting this together and getting the word out.

I took a few pictures and you can get to them by clicking the spoke card that I didn't make.

Ready for Halloween?

I hope so, it's tomorrow. Put on your costume, get on your bike, ride to The Swamp at 8:00p.m., drink your drink and ride with me to a Halloween bar party for some costume judging. I really don't have a route for any sort of extended ride so if you ride a weird bike bring it. The route will be flat and uneventful. Quite unlike the last Fiasco.

An Uphill Battle

Looks like there is going to be another chance to go to Hangar 57. There is going to be a race from the Riverfront Fountain to the Hangar. At the Hangar they will be showing a video from Fast Friday. All of this will be starting at 7:00p.m. October 28th, so if you aren't down for a race come up to Hangar 57 for some drinks and enjoy watching some kids on bikes show off their sweet tricks. Any questions can be taken care of by Simon(info on the flyer). This is not an FBC event.

Do you have your costume ready?

The Halloween ride will be on Friday October 31st. We will start at The Swamp at 8:00p.m. and we will struggle through the traffic lights to show off all that hard work you put in on that outfit. There will be a costume contest but I don't know what the prize will be if any. It may just be bragging rights.

I Called Ahead... I Promise

I called to warn Hangar 57 that I would be bringing around 35 people so we would not have the line or the pie plate eyes that the lone bartender gets when we show up. Didn't seem to help much. With $2.00 draft and Karaoke it was just going to be busy.

At the beginning, some were apprehensive about climbing the South Hill on a 7 mile ride. We began and the sprinters took off going their usual way up some of the harder climbs and confused the shit out of the others that were not that familiar with the route, so I spent a good portion of the ride shouting LEFT! RIGHT! STRAIGHT! SLOW DOWN! ONE LANE! I immediately thought of my friend Lee in StL. Very effective shouter of directions. Could have used you Lee.

I even tried to encourage them to stick with me by not making that many spoke cards and, per Ken's suggestion, pass them out when we got to the top. Thanks to the Good Doctor for keeping an eye on the back of the pack so we could show up together.

We made a stop at Rocket Market for some snacks and singles and then it was on to Hatch Rd. That's right, Hatch, the rough, difficult to navigate death trap for cyclist. Mostly because of grandpa's in Audi's headed to the golf course. Lucky for us, it was closed for resurfacing and we had a smooth, dark, carless ride up to 57th where we then had a bike lane all the way to Hangar 57. Hopefully, the resurfacing of Hatch will include a bike lane. They certainly have the room for it.

HALLOWEEN!

We are going to have an extra ride this month. We will be having a Halloween ride on October 31st. We will meet at The Swamp at 8:00p.m. We will be in costume. We will have a large time. We will post details about the route as collected. We will not be going that far or up so strange bikes are encouraged. Be sure to wear your costume so you can get a spoke card.

Any questions, feel free to email me through the contact button at the top. Thanks for coming out for this one.

And Boom Goes The Dynamite

Looks like I stirred the pot with an email to the Lifetime Members For Life regarding a blog post. I kinda got my panties in a wad about some stupid junk and sent everyone over there to complain on my behalf. Thanks and sorry.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, it's time for the next Full Moon Fiasco. It will be Tuesday October 14th. We will meet at The Swamp at 8:00p.m. ish for some refreshments before heading South. That's right, I said South. This maybe the last snowless ride this year so I thought we'd go up. Don't worry, I'm not climbing Monroe or some such nonsense. We will be taking the 'easy' way up to fun and happiness.

So meet me downtown for a nice shut up and ride.
